Washington State Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth
The Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth is a scholarship program that helps young men and women from foster care in Washington State continue their education and earn a college degree. students must meet specific criteria. The program is supported by Governor Chris Gregoire, The Honorable Gary Locke, and other former governors of the state.
Proceeds from the - an annual golf tournament – provide funding for approximately 40 new scholars each year. Scholarship award amounts range from $2000 to $4000 depending on the college of attendance.
Click here for . Scholarships can be used up to five years until completion of the student's program of study. Students must be enrolled full time and maintain satisfactory academic progress in order to renew scholarships each year.
