College Mentoring
A key component of the College Success Foundation is mentoring. Research indicates that effective mentoring is one of the most powerful relationships for influencing human behavior. The College Success Foundation (CSF) believes that mentoring should be on an individual one-on-one basis. The role of mentors in the lives of our scholars will be one of the keys to ensuring that our students earn four-year college degrees.
At the college level, a college mentor is provided to CSF Scholars for the first two years of college. In addition, as scholars reach upper division standing in the college, CSF encourages the college to continue to provide mentoring with a specialized emphasis on the student's area of study as well as career related internships and job opportunities.
On each college campus there is a College Mentor Coordinator who serves as the liaison between the college mentor, the CSF Scholar and the College Success Foundation. The College Mentor Coordinator recruits and trains campus faculty and staff to become mentors for the CSF Scholars.
